I have been horrible at keeping everyone updated and current with what’s going on. I am now about to waste your time going over where I have been for the last few months!
First off: You’re Not Dead.
I have been waiting almost a year to do a re-issue of this book. I have been working with Olympia over in Britain to get it all fixed up for the launch. Finally, I have news! It looks like the book will be getting it’s day in the sun in the next couple of months. I will do a proper update when I get a day, but it has been streamlined back to its original state.
That’s right! It’s not 100 pages, but it is back to just being the tale of me in hospital! No longer is it padded with short stories and obvious fiction!
That brings me to point two!
New book at the 75% mark. I have to thank the few people who have been assisting me in my journey, and I hope to have it at a more consolidated state soon. It has turned out to be a collection of short stories. I have done most of the writing and self-editing phase, I just really need to flush out one of the threads. I have a tonne of ideas, a very clear purpose that I want to work towards, now I just need to get the courage to actually do it.
Thing three is an apology.
I have dropped the ball on my YouTube channel as well as here. I have scripts for future updates, I just cannot find the time to piece them together right now. The biggest, and most important one, is that I have an idea to jay-splain genre’s. An idea I had recently is to do a bunch of short updates reminding everyone how Civics in Canada work. I have seen too many people blame the wrong branch of government for issues they have no say over, meanwhile giving a pass to those who deserve to the held accountable. I am torn and far from an expert on either of these facts, but does anyone have interest in either of these ideas?
I know that it doesn’t sound a lot. I am, of course, keeping things out which still don’t give me a full excuse to do updates as infrequent as I do. All I can promise is that cool things are coming down the pipeline in the next couple of months!
I am terrible. In the last post, I promised something about winterizing a wheelchair (or something like that). I have not even looked into the research for that. I have been distracted by posting his complete collections of seasons. I am a nerd. I am well aware of that.
I have thought about looking at Media’s portrayal of being in a wheelchair. I really like the idea, but I just thought of it today and I am planning to put a good bit of research into it. So, for today, I am going to talk about the importance of finding good ignorable music.
Good Ignorable Music? If something is ignorable, does it really matter the quality? If it is good, wont you be distracted by the amazing radiating from the speakers?
Ignorable music, to me, is comfort music. It is something you can have on in the background. Something to do chores to. Something to enjoy, without the urge to listen to every beat or lyric.
My go-to is Chevelle’s Sci-Fi Crimes. I think it was horribly underrated and I feel it is not talked about enough. With all the praise I can give this album, it is the definition of ignorable to me. Nothing is overtly complicated, I have listen to it a million times, and the lyrics are pointless in a good way.
I discovered this while doing dishes the other day and the sounds of this album were penetrating the drone of the running water. I never once looked up and regretting not hearing part X of the song that was playing. Quite the opposite, really: I knew every bit even if I could just hear certain frequencies individually and not as a whole.
Nothing bothers me more than walking in somewhere playing shit music and the people just remark “I put on something to ignore.” IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE HORRIBLE! You can ignore favourites simply because you already know what is coming.
I completely forgot that I am at the end of my que, so I do not have anything lined up. I am sorry. I am (as you know) usually more on top of things…
I will try to have something for next week, though! Please be patient with me…
In the mean time, look into my book! It’s been out for just over a year, and people seem to like it!
All of the comments left on this website are filtered. I have noticed that majority end up in the ‘spam’ filter. My point is that I am terrible and do not look into them enough. I try. I will try harder. If you do not see your comment appearing for weeks, do not fret. I am just being silly.
